My Client a leading sports organisation is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Manager to play a crucial role in organising and managing their sports events. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and executing procurement strategies that align with the company's mission and values.

Position Overview

As the Procurement Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient procurement of goods and services for allocated events and packages. This role requires a deep understanding of the event process from concept to completion, as well as the ability to collaborate with stakeholders and drive initiatives that support the company's commitment to sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Define the procurement plan for allocated events and packages, setting timelines for issuing tenders, appointing suppliers, and issuing contracts

  • Ensure packages are secured and suppliers appointed on a timely basis

  • Lead and manage the tender process for allocated races and packages

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to continuously review and improve procurement strategies and processes

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, standards, and guidance

  • Champion sustainability within the company and its ecosystem

  • Communicate collaboratively with junior and senior colleagues

  • Coach and mentor colleagues, enabling them to thrive in their roles

Requirements

  • Understanding and experience in the event process from concept to completion

  • Experience in creating and managing a sourcing schedule and managing stakeholders to ensure timely package securement

  • Proven track record in managing the tender process from beginning to end

  • Understanding of key elements of a contract, including scope, drawings, deliverables, and KPIs

  • Experience in managing a contract change control process

  • Ability to summarise technical and commercial information/data and create understandable comparisons for decision-making

  • Capability to manage multiple events/projects simultaneously

  • Experience in managing change and driving people initiatives in a fast-paced, complex environment

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to lead meetings effectively

  • Commercially focused and solutions-oriented mindset

  • Self-motivated and proactive attitude

  • Exemplary organization skills, ability to multi-task, challenge, and be a team player
