Position Overview

As Category Manager, the focus of your role revolves around procurement category management, inclusive of Travel, Uniform and Temporary Power. Your keen business acumen, strategic foresight and propensity for fostering resilient relationships are pivotal for optimising supplier performance, reducing business risks, and contributing to the execution of a seamless procurement cycle. In addition to this, you'll be diligently leading, supporting and developing our client's dedicated team.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver robust commercial support by managing stakeholder relationships and procurement category management.

  • Identify sourcing opportunities using in-depth analysis and regular interaction with Group Managers and Finance.

  • Foster collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including Finance, Legal, Health & Safety & Compliance.

  • Construct an effective category plan through well-substantiated insights and analysis.

  • Execute commercial and contractual negotiations with external suppliers

  • Oversee the complete Procurement Cycle, encompassing the preparation of tender documents, contract award, and subsequent contract management.

  • Encourage innovation among suppliers and maintain strong performance levels.

  • Direct your team with regular feedback, setting yearly objectives, and participating in End of Year assessments.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years' experience in strategic sourcing Worldwide Travel and Hotel programmes.

  • Working knowledge of P2P systems, especially Microsoft D365.

  • Proven experience of negotiation and drafting comprehensive contracts including KPIs and SLAs.

  • Strong communication skills, able to generate fact-based insights through analysis.

  • Ability to work collaboratively, influence behaviour and demonstrate initiative.
