Our client, a Fortune 500 organisation, is seeking a Global Purchasing Strategic Planning and Governance Director to join their team in Switzerland. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the purchasing strategy and governance for a company committed to delivering sustainable solutions across various industries.

Position Overview

As the Global Purchasing Strategic Planning and Governance Director, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies and governance structures across key areas such as strategic planning, supplier intelligence, risk management, and ESG initiatives. You will ensure that these principles are integrated into the company's global purchasing strategy, policies, and processes, aligning with their strategic priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies for strategic planning, supplier intelligence, governance, and ESG initiatives

  • Lead the implementation of purchasing strategic initiatives and ensure integration into global processes

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of ID&E and ESG key performance metrics

  • Engage with senior management, facilitate strategic communications, and drive change management

  • Monitor adoption and execution across the global purchasing function to achieve targets and goals

  • Represent the organisation and engage with external stakeholders to understand market trends and best practices

  • Adapt to changing internal and external requirements, including regulations and industry practices

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in purchasing with a deep understanding of global strategies and processes

  • Experience leading ESG programs and managing teams across geographies

  • Proven ability to work with, present to, and influence senior management

  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, and influential leadership capabilities

  • Experience leading transformational change and thinking strategically while delving into details
